What is Early Reads?
Early Reads is a free membership program that gives you the opportunity to review some of Sourcebooks’ most anticipated releases before they’re available to the public.
How does it work?
- Every week we email you a list of our most anticipated titles.
- You select two free books or eBooks of your choice, and we’ll send them directly to your home or email address.
- We will send you an invitation to share your thoughts. Your honest reviews help us create a world of readers connected by great stories.
Is it available in my country?
Early Reads is only available to members within the continental US due to shipping costs and licensing rights.
How do I download my eBooks?
- After your order was placed, an email confirmation was sent with a link to the download.
- Click on the link and you will be taken to your Early Reads account.
- Login as needed, and check your account for My Downloadable Products.
- Click the down-arrow / title and this will open the book on our reading platform, Issuu.
*Note: If you don't have the link, you can also log into your Early Reads account and follow the same instructions.
What device or system do I need to read my eBooks?
When using Issuu, you can view your eBook using any device that can connect to the Internet. For instance, if you have a Kindle, iPad, laptop, or other device, simply access your Early Reads account and look for My Downloadable Products.
How often will I receive codes?
We send new codes every Monday. The codes are valid until 11:59pm CST on the following Sunday.
What if my code doesn’t work?
If you believe there is a problem with your code, please contact customer care at email@example.com.
How do I review the product?
You can review your Early Reads books at any online retailer’s site of your choosing (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.) at any time. You will also receive a reminder email a couple weeks after you get your book that will contain links to suggested retailers.
What happens when I don't use my code?
Due to limited availability, Early Reads codes expire at 11:59pm CST the Sunday after the codes are sent to you. After the expiration you cannot redeem the code, but you will remain a member of Early Reads and receive upcoming codes.
Can I have more than one account?
No, only one account per person.
What happens when I place an order without my code?
If you complete an order without using your promo code, you can contact customer care at firstname.lastname@example.org for a refund equal to the value of that code.
My order is lost, will I receive a replacement?
If your eBook did not arrive, check your spam folder for the order confirmation that contains your eBook link.
If your print books were lost in the mail, contact customer care at email@example.com.
When will I get my books?
Print books typically take 8-14 business days to arrive
eBooks are delivered same-day to your inbox with your order confirmation receipt. (If you don’t see the confirmation email, check your spam folder and be sure to add us to your contact list.) See “How do I download my eBooks?” on the FAQ if you are having trouble.
How do you pick the books that are featured?
Every week our book selection is hand-picked by our passionate and energetic team of book lovers. We take into account what day the book will be published, its popularity, and what resonates most with our members. Typically, we offer pre-release titles, but on occasion we also feature some of our most beloved timeless books as well.
Why are some titles only available as eBooks?
In order to keep Early Reads free for our members, we frequently offer eBooks instead of print copies to eliminate shipping costs. Exceptions to this include picture books, journals, planners, and titles that do not have eBooks available.
I did not receive my confirmation email. How do I access my book?
Check your spam folder and ensure that the email address you used to sign up is correct.
